SITMATIC… to each his own seat
Sebastiano D’Amore has been at the helm of the company for just
one year now, and the new developments are already here:
ergonomic research and product customization are joined by
investment in design, and in the image of the product and the brand
Sitmatic is a long-standing Italian firm founded in 1969, specializing in the
production of ergonomic seating for the office and collective spaces, offering
high performance and great aesthetic quality. Over the years the company
has improved its market position thanks to strategies of specialization in
the production of mechanisms, metal parts and the moulding of
polyurethane, and in the manufacturing and stitching of coverings.
The process of internationalization has led to the founding of Sitmatic
USA, created to respond more efficiently to the demands of the American
market, and to consolidation on Middle Eastern markets, where high
quality and good looks are the foremost priorities.
Sebastiano D’Amore has been at the helm of the company since 2013, and
the new developments haven’t lagged behind: the values embraced by the
company to date have been joined by investment in research on new
materials and technologies, design and the image of products and the brand.
“There is only one way to improve the quality of seating – says the president
D’Amore – and that is to proceed along the path of innovation: to launch
studies on posture and to technically translate the results into products; to
contact the best suppliers and to test the materials; to challenge established
know-how, opening to innovations that become available and incorporating
them in products. Today, and even more in the future, the collaborations
between Sitmatic and Italian and foreign designers will be more assiduous,
because we are convinced that design marks the passage from a simply
comfortable, functional object to a piece of furniture that is a decor
protagonist, of both physical and conceptual space.”
The communications of Sitmatic have also been impacted by new
approaches: the new headquarters, the new website, the restyling of the logo
and all the information materials, and participation at different European
fairs with an image that concretely reflects the character of the products.
To each his own seat
From the initial idea to production, from testing to quality control, all the
way to distribution on the market, all the phases are done in-house and
directly managed by the company, through two production units specialized
in the manufacture of mechanical components and fine industrial
workmanship. These particular features make Sitmatic like a firm of custom
craftsmen, but with the logic of industrial production. Even after many years
of use, the company can guarantee replacement of worn or damaged parts.
The firm has also invested in product customization, with special features
to match the interior design of spaces, also thanks to a complete range of
colors, fabrics and materials, bringing aesthetic variety to the main
seating lines. Great care goes into relations with customers with
particular needs, and many of the lines of armchairs and seats have been
designed to facilitate independence of movement for persons with weight
problems or forms of motor impairment. Besides the technical and
ergonomic research, Sitmatic has developed aesthetic research that has
led to landmark products for the brand, like the Whisper and Vela seating
for collective spaces, or the Boss managerial seating, the result of the
talent of designers like Ottavio Di Blasi, David Kaiser and Paul Brooks.
The Sitmatic collection now features new lines, including the SawSan chair
presented at BUREAUX EXPO 2014, the Parisian appointment that is one of
the most important on an international level for the field of office
furnishings. Designed by Folco Orlandini, SawSan adapts to any type of
decor, in contract or in office spaces, thanks to the variety of the versions
that make up the family.
