sector continues with new solutions that incorporate lighting
components
In line with a vision of design at the service of wellness and comfort, the new
challenge of Caimi Brevetti is Snowsound-Lux, a line of multifunctional products
that combine the element of light with the “sound component” to create a hybrid
of comfortable lighting and sound absorption.
Snowsound-Lux builds on the achievements of the company’s research in the
field of acoustic design – leading to the development of the Snowsound
®
panels
and the Snowsound
®
-Fiber high-performance range of sound-absorbing fabrics
– to move towards new explorations in the field of lighting. The mission remains
the same: to make products that can be useful for people.

for the development of the acoustic fibers we have conducted one of the most
complete studies ever done in this sector, with scientific tests that demonstrate
the high performance of our products. The technical approach has also been
applied to Snowsound-Lux, through the development of specific lighting
elements for our panels, where the objective is to find the best compromise
between light and sound, performance and product design. Every innovation
is approach by our company with all the appropriate humility, knowing that for
some aspects we are starting from scratch, but always with the goal of achieving
excellence: for us, this is the path towards augmented professional prowess.”
The work done by the company in the area of acoustic design has led to
great success in terms of sales, thanks to the products’ ability to flexibly solve
problems connected with sound in public and private spaces. One essential tool
is the “Snowsound Program” software, developed in-house by Caimi Brevetti,
which permits rapid estimation of the quantity of material required to bring
acoustic comfort to spaces. Recognized as an avant-garde design tool, this
software was honored in Chicago with the Best of Neocon Silver Award.
Pure geometry, floating in space
Pure, minimal form sets the tone of the products of the Snowsound-Lux
collection, like sculptural features made with Snowsound technology that light
up spaces while improving their acoustic atmosphere.
Two versions are available at present, Giotto-Lux and Oversize Lux, which
besides lighting spaces and creating acoustic comfort also make it possible
to lower ceilings.
Designed by Sezgin Aksu, Giotto Lux is a sound-absorbing panel with a circular
form (diameter 119 cm), with a 28W LED lighting fixture at the center, protected
by a diffuser in satin-finish polyethylene. It comes in a range of colors, and can
be coordinated with the Giotto Ceiling and Giotto Wall panels without lights.
The designer Marc Sadler has created Oversize Lux, a project developed to
make sound-absorbing panels into an architectural feature offered in different sizes.
Depending on needs, it is possible to choose the version with single square LED
spots, for accent lighting, to highlight certain objects or to create atmosphere in
zones of passage or waiting, or rectangular LED fixtures with diffused emission,
ideal for work areas, restaurants, etc.
Both versions come with adjustable ceiling suspension cables.
